Restart

May 31st Outdoor Service

We will have an outdoor service at 11:00am with lunch.

We are so excited to be kicking off our in-person services with an outdoor lunch/service to be held between the two buildings, in the pavilion, on Sunday, May 31st at 11am.

First, we’ll enjoy lunch on the grounds to be served under health guidelines according to the governor’s recommendations. Then, our praise band and worship team will lead us in some live music, then Pastor Don will deliver a short sermon.

We will be exercising every precaution to ensure a safe and healthy return to church — this includes maintaining social distancing between tents and groups on the lawn, additional sanitizing efforts and plenty of volunteers to make sure everything goes smoothly!

If you plan to attend this service, PLEASE keep scrolling to provide a headcount for your group. This will help to ensure we can accommodate everyone comfortably.

We hope you’ll join us for this exciting service! If you have questions about the event, please contact that church office for more information.

June 7th Reopening INDOOR Service

We plan to begin services again on campus with a limited capacity for each service at 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM. We will have childcare for ages 0-3 years old during this initial restart. During our 10:30 service, we will have extra seating available in the X-Plex. This family worship area is designed not only as extra seating, but will also be a dedicated space for families with young children, over the age of 3, who need a kid-friendly and relaxed worship space. Kid’s can be kids and parents can enjoy worship via livestream. We will also have kid’s activity packs available in both locations!

We will be adhering to our governor’s guidelines as we reopen. Our volunteers will be available to help you and on hand to answer any questions you may have. We are SO EXCITED to come back together again and, as we prepare for this exciting day, we invite you to pray with us, celebrate with us, and plan ahead for an amazing time of worship!

Covid Updates for Gateway

When will Life Groups (and other adult ministries) start meeting on campus again?

The answer to this question primarily depends on when the governor increases the number of people who can gather in one place. While we know that waiting for things to get back to normal can be frustrating, we would encourage you to go ahead and get plugged in to a Life Group now by checking out Gatewaybc.com/gatewaygroups and finding one that interests you! Several of our groups are using video calls, emails, phone calls, and texting to stay in touch and keep connected, so now is as good a time as any to grow in your relationship with God and other people in a Life Group! And if you have any questions or get stuck, contact Tagg for help.

When will Youth activities start meeting on campus again?

At this point we are waiting on the governor to increase the number of people who can gather in one place. We also want to operate in an abundance of caution to protect not only our students, but their loved ones who may be high risk. I wish we could give a date, but one determining factor we are watching for is the reopening of private daycares. Our student pastor, Brandon, is also staying in close communication with other local student pastors. Until we can start meeting on campus again, we are meeting every Sunday night at 7pm on Instagram Live @gsstudents. We also have a middle school zoom small group on Wednesday nights at 7pm and high school meets at 8pm on the same night. You can text “Gateway Students” to 474747 for the invite to those zoom small groups.

Will the youth still go to their summer camp, BigStuf?

BigStuf is a GO for July! BigStuf knows how important it is for students to spend a week during the summer worshipping with other students and getting a week purely focused on their relationship with God and others. They did not take this decision lightly as they want our students and their staff to be safe! If you have not registered and would like to go, you can find more details and register at www.gatewaybc.com/bigstuf20.

Will there be Gateway Kids on June 7th?

We will not have children’s services or groups during the first phase of our restart. We will keep families and parents updated on when a start date for Gateway Kids will be. Visit our Facebook Page to stay updated on Gateway Kids!

What about other Gateway Kids events this summer?

::Mega Camp::
After much prayer and discussion within our staff and with other churches, and consideration of government guidelines, we unfortunately have made the difficult decision to cancel Mega Camp this summer. We want to show an abundance of caution and care for the well-being of all kids, families, and volunteers, and therefore feel this is the right course of action. Even though we are sad about missing out on one of our favorite weeks of the year, our Gateway Kids team will be working to come up with an exciting event to welcome kids back to school later this year! In the coming weeks, we will be working to process refunds for those who have already registered for Mega Camp.

::Camp Longridge::
Camp Longridge has informed us that they will not be having any camps this summer. While we are saddened by this, we fully understand why the camp had to make the difficult decision to close for the summer. For this reason, our July trip to Camp Longridge for 8-12 year olds has been canceled, but we are looking at other possible opportunities for a camp experience in July. If you have a kid or kids who are in this age range and are still interested in a camp experience during the week of July 20th, please send Jeff an email to let him know of your interest.
