Gateway Missions

Carroll serves with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and is the Northern Midlands Area Representative for schools in Irmo and Kershaw County, and Lee County . He counts it a privilege to challenge coaches and athletes. He engages them with God’s truth, equips them to walk closer with Him, and empowers them to impact more coaches and athletes. Carroll and his wife, Pam, are long-time members of Gateway.

This is the parent organization for Good News Clubs as well as other programs for which the main purpose is sharing the Good News of Jesus with children.

The Cooperative Ministry exists to increase the economic self-sufficiency of people experiencing poverty in the Midlands through crisis assistance and sustainability programs. They provide food, clothing, utility assistance, rent and mortgage assistance, career improvement, income tax preparation, insurance assistance and more.

Daybreak LifeCare Center provides resources to women and men facing unplanned pregnancies. Their hope is that every person who seeks resources from Daybreak LifeCare Center will encounter the love of Jesus Christ and realize their potential to parent their unborn child. Their services are free and 100 percent confidential. Services include pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, options consultations, and an abortion recovery support group for those suffering from the trauma of abortion. They also offer an educational program that allows our clients to earn points to redeem in our facility’s beautiful Taylor’s Boutique—where they have access to brand-new essential baby items such as car seats, strollers, baby clothes, and more.

The purpose of Good News Club is to share the good news of Jesus with boys and girls, disciple them in the Word of God, and help establish them in a local church for Christian living. Gateway sponsors four Good News Clubs in local schools. Good News Club is a ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship. We are looking for volunteers who can commit 2 hours per week for 10 weeks during the school year.

Their vision is to help individuals navigate life spirit, soul and body in the areas of pregnancy, parenting, relationships and mental health support. Providing private coaching sessions, referrals & collaborative support services, individual & group education, and multidisciplinary outreach. We believe that intervention and prevention are vital, crisis care needs to be readily available and difficult conversations are just the beginning of life changing relationships.

Lighthouse for Life is a local Christian ministry serving survivors of sex trafficking here in the Midlands. They work to educate our community on the realities of human trafficking while also coming alongside survivors in their journeys to healing, pointing them to the hope and grace of Jesus Christ!

Oliver Gospel is a community-based mission that helps those experiencing homelessness, poverty, or addiction transform their lives through physical, spiritual, and relational support so that they can lead full, healthy lives. Through our Men's Center, Toby's Place (center for women and children), and our social enterprises, we provide holistic rehabilitation, transitional housing, and career development, always aiming for permanent housing and a solid community for each person who comes through our doors.

Sharing God’s Love (SGL) provides emergency assistance in our community. SGL provides food, clothing, financial assistance, spiritual encouragement, and other services to those in need living in the following zip code areas: 29063, 29210, 29212.

The North American Mission Board (NAMB) helps equip churches to be on mission in their own communities and across the continent. Through compassion ministry, church planting, chaplaincy and disaster relief, they help congregations go to the lost and hurting.

While studying at CIU, Brian and Becky Harrell became part of our Gateway family. In 2004, Gateway sent them out as missionaries to serve with the International Mission Board (IMB). They along with their four children serve in northern Mozambique, Africa, among the Nahara people group. They work among people who have been steeped in centuries of Islam and witchcraft. However, the tide is turning, and people are placing their faith in Christ, new believers are being discipled, churches are being planted, and national believers are starting to go out as missionaries. In 2022, Brian and Becky's role expanded, and they now the oversee the missionary work in nine Central African countries.

Crossover Global, a church planting organization, desires to see God glorified by providing gospel access through the planting of multiplying churches among unreached people groups! Crossover Global serves in 10 regions of the world; has six ministry bases in Brazil, the Caucasus, Central Asia, India, Moldova, and the United States; and has planted thousands of churches among the unreached peoples of the world.

Eddie Robinson is the North Africa and Caribbean Director for the Live School. Eddie is responsible for overseeing all the efforts to start Live School trainings in these regions. Originally from South Africa, he moved to the United States in 2006 to expand the U.S. office. Eddie and his wife, Leré, are part of our Gateway family.

The International Mission Board’s (IMB) mission is to serve Southern Baptists in carrying out the Great Commission to make disciples of all nations​.

Live School is a comprehensive and portable missions training and discipleship program that trains indigenous believers in rural and urban areas of the world to plant sustainable churches and be missionaries to their own and neighboring people groups.

Gateway finds it a privilege to support Old Town Church, a new church plant in Rock Hill, SC. Matthew Cavin, lead pastor of Old Town Church, grew up at Gateway and later interned with Gateway Students. Matthew has served at various churches over the last 15 years, and now he and his wife, Meghan, are following God’s call to plant a church in downtown Rock Hill.

Gateway is affiliated with Columbia Metro Baptist Association (CMBA). The CMBA is a family of Baptist congregations located in the Midlands of South Carolina. Their priority is to start and strengthen congregations to serve as vital and vibrant missional communities.

Compassion is a child-advocacy ministry pairing compassionate people with children living in extreme poverty to release the children from spiritual, economic, social, and physical poverty. Gateway periodically holds a Compassion Sunday, and over the years many of our members have sponsored children from around the world.

Gateway is affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention (SCBC). The SCBC strengthens churches, serves communities, shares the hope of Jesus, sends Christian workers, and helps start new churches.

Riley Williamson is serving with Club Beyond as the Community Director at Camp Humphreys in South Korea, the largest, overseas U.S. military base. Club Beyond is Young Life'a outreach to middle and high school students on military bases. Club Beyond’s mission is to celebrate life with military teens, introduce them to the Life Giver, and help them become more like Him. While attending CIU's Student Ministry Program, Riley interned with Gateway Students. He, along with his wife, Madyson, and their infant daughter are part of our Gateway family.
